Anne Phung Nguyen

My name is Anne Phung Nguyen and I am an Vietnamese American entrepreneur residing in the beautiful Orange County California with my wonderful fianc JP and my happy-go-lucky Dad Henry. People often recognize me as @annephung on Instagram and I write about my adventures ranging from ups to the downs. When I was in 1990, I moved to America together with my parents and brother when I turned one and a half. If it wasn't for my parents' passion for hard work and sacrifice, I probably wouldn't even be here sharing my life. As I knew I could achieve a better future, I was determined to achieve my goals and make my parents happy. It was my plan to go to school, graduate and get a good job. After that, I was looking for to have a family and a wife. My plan for success was to go to university to graduate, then get an executive job. Then I'd get married, buy a house and start a family. However, life was not so sure. In 2013 I found myself dreading going to my corporate job. The money and the status did not bring me joyand I was feeling like I was wasting my life away for a paycheck when I knew I was destined for something more. The year 2013 was when I realized that my passion was fitness. I also liked socializing and being able to help others. In the process of pursuing this direction change in my life, I found the personal training I needed. In 2014 I started my business on the side and in this year in 2021, I'll be celebrating my 7th year anniversary. It is rare to find Asian women working in this industry. My goal is to be a change maker within the business to offer the best coaching and guidance to help people to live a more healthy and happier them by creating a sustainable lifestyle cater to the individual needs and desires. Also, I want others to be empowered to follow their dreams and accomplish whatever they want in life. While my professional life began to take off, I experienced one of the biggest losses in my entire life to date- the passing of my mother. She won her eight year battle with Scleroderma and is now in Heaven and is with me in my mind and heart at all times. Life really does have the capacity to give us the exact thing we require even when we're unable to grasp the lessons at this moment. The passing of my mother changed me in so many ways and I am convinced that my mom offered me a second opportunity to live my life after her passing. Her death at Tet/Lunar New Year Day was her opportunity to start a new life. To me, it was my second chance to lead a fulfilled life. As I enter my 30's, I feel more alive than ever. I can truly say that I am living my life now, and not just surviving just like I did in the past. When I share my experience I hope my thoughts will resonate with yours. My hope is that my words can make you aware that you're never truly alone. That you have the potential to accomplish everything you desire. You have only one life. I hope you live it to the fullest.
